All Hail the Okaka Na Eme Eze 1 of Etiti Ngwo Na Asaa
Third January, 2024 has booked a special spot in the memory pods of the people of Etiti Ngwo Community of Enugu State with the induction into the hall of fame and conferment of a chieftaincy title on one of its illustrious sons, Prof. Robinson Chukwudi Onoh. A Consultant Gynecologist and Endoscopic Surgeon Prof. Onoh is the Chief Medical Director of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, AEFUTHA. The conferment of Okaka Na Eme Eze 1 of Etiti Ngwo on Prof. Onoh was the climax of the civic reception organized in his honour for his various contributions to the development of the community and meritorious services to humanity.
During the epic event held at Obu Ukabi Square, Etiti Ngwo, Prof. Onoh was celebrated as a prince of the Royal dynasty of Nnadi Onoh Nnadi of Etiti Ngwo and described as an accomplished and committed leader whose life has helped to transform other lives that crossed his part. The story was told of how a medical outreach he initiated in the community attracted the attention and commendation of Her Excellency, the wife of the Governor of Enugu state and paved the way for a pledge by the State Government to repair the famous Milken Hill Road, the only access road between the Community and Enugu capital city.
His Royal Highness, Igwe I. O. U. Ayalogu, the Assa 1 of Ngwo N’ássa performed the rites of conferment of chieftaincy title on Prof. Onoh, surrounded by members of his royal cabinet, and called down the blessings of God and the intercession of their ancestors on the Okaka Na Eme Eze 1.
In his acceptance speech, Prof Onoh thanked the Igwe and the Igwe in Council for the conferment of the chieftaincy title on him. “I know that without the approval of the Igwe-in-Council the chieftaincy would not have been given to me,” he said. He dedicated the chieftaincy title to God and his Father, explaining that the name of the title, Okaka Na Eme Eze, means “God crowns or makes the king.” “Without God I wouldn’t be here and wouldn’t be crowned with the chieftaincy title,” he said, adding, “my father saw something in me which I did not see and dedicated his life to ensure I had proper education.” He promised to use his position as CMD of AEFUTHA and his new position as a titled chief to continue to touch lives and help humanity in more ways than before.
The occasion was a parade of who’s who of Etiti Ngwo Community, home and abroad; the AEFUTHA Community including the immediate past CMD of AEFUTHA, Dr. Ogah Onwe Emeka; the Provost, College of Medicine at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike, Ikwo, AEFUNAI, Prof. Paul Olisaemeka Ezeonu; the Director of Administration at AEFUTHA, Chief Calistus Okonkwo; former Director of Finance, Chief Sylvester Ugamah and other top management staff of the hospital.
The event was quite rich in colour with an array of traditional dance troupes and cultural performances.

In a remarkable display of compassion and healthcare excellence, Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Ebonyi State, joined forces with the visionary the wife of the State Governor, Her Excellency, Chief Mrs Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Ogbonna Nwifuru and her pet project "Better Health for Rural Women and Internally Displaced Persons (BERWO)" to orchestrate a monumental medical outreach at Oferekpe Agbaja in Izzi Local Area on December 16, 2023.

It can be recalled, recently an audience members of Ebonyi State Gender Based Violence Taskforce (GBV) were in an advocacy visit to the office of the newly appointed Chief Medical Director , Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital Abakaliki on a Friday 17th August , 2023.
The task force were led by it's State coordinator Bar Mrs Faithvin Nwanchor who joyfully expressed the purpose of their coming while being welcome by the Chief Medical Director. In her expression , she exposed that the visit is to seek for a collaboration with AE-FUTHA Management in standing up for a right as stated in their objectives
The CMD Prof Robinson Onoh in a bid to leave no stone on top as an achiever pledge for the collaboration of the hospital with the GBV taskforce in responding to their issues while addressing the group in his office . He expressed his keen interest which he undertook to set a desk officer and a team specialist in health care profession in rendering services to gender based violence cases and to ensure that all survivors are comprehensively managed medically, emotionally and psychologically
Commending the taskforce for their efforts so far regarding the fight against Gender Based Violence, he said , GBV is an area that are basically poorly reported, especially in the area of restoring sanity and image of women who are sexually assaults and others that are affected in one way or the other in the society
Continuing, the CMD said " it will be my happiness to be part of the advocacy, recalling during my course work as a scholar ,that is one of the area I ventured into , even here in our hospital we're always taking care of the violence aspect of our patients and we're ready to work with you to give a better life to people attacked physically and emotionally.
Faithvin in her requst appealed for a unit that will be more of trained health care professionals that are proactive in functioning so to make the vision a reality and for hospital to achieve their primary goals .
Today, it's vision come through , the statement made earlier by an erudite professor, an achiever and a proactive Chief Medical Director of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki Prof Onoh Robinson has come to fullfillment . As a well deserved apartment in the hospital complex were designated through him and his team management for establishment of Gender Based Violence center in the hospital
Nduru(dove) a one stop shop center as named by her Excellence wife of Ebonyi State Governor. Chief Mrs Maudline Uzoamaka Ogbonnaya Nwifuru was on 29th Nov 2023 commissioned for service to humanity The epoch event gathered over three hundred personalities from all conners around the globe .
Really it was a dream come through , as Prof Onoh is in his just concluded 100 days in office played a vital role in the establishment of Nduru Gender based violence center at the hospital premises and many more as part of his vision statement to make the hospital one of the best around the globe especially in the area of health care services
To mark the event , an oral interview were granted to the center manager Mrs Cecilia who profoundly said that the center is fully loaded and ready to discharge the set goals and objectives. She also lauded AE-FUTHA Management for their supportive efforts so far in fulfillment of promises made during a courtesy visit to his office . Other members were in unanimously promised to work with AE-FUTHA in creating More awareness to the publics which will go along way to showcase the hospital to a greater r height .
