Prof. Robinson Chukwudi Onoh was born in Enugu into the Royal Dynasty of Onoh Nnadi Onoh. His Parents are Mr Ernest Ama Onoh a retired NITEL staff and Mrs. Roseline Nneka Onoh a retired Nurse whose nursing practice inspired Prof Onoh to the field of Medicine.

As a result of his keen interest in sciences he enrolled into Special Science School Ihe Awgu where he completed his secondary school education with flying colours. He Studied Medicine and Surgery at the prestigious University of Nigeria Nsukka where he obtained Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS. Nig ). He did his housemanship at University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH) Enugu and National Youth Service Corps ( NYSC) at National Assembly Clinic Abuja. After the service he decided to come home to face his Professional carrier and calling, with the hope of building a solid base in his Profession.

Prof. Onoh was employed as a Medical Officer in the then Federal Medical Centre Abakaliki and was the Pioneer resident at FMC Abakaliki. He was also the First Senior Registrar and the First indigenous Fellow produced by the FMC Abakaliki.

Prof. Onoh is a Fellow of the West African College of Surgeon (FWACS), Fellow of Medical College Of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FMCOG). He is also a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons(FICS), Fellow of Minimal Access Surgery(FMAS). He has Diploma in Minimal Access Surgery (India), Certificate in Assisted Reproductive Technology (India) and Diploma in Public Administration. He has Masters in Public Health.

Prof. Onoh is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist as well as an Endoscopic Surgeon and served as the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (Director of Clinical Services, Training and Research) of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Ebonyi State from 2015-2019. Professor Onoh rose through the academic ranks to become a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike, Ebonyi State Nigeria and is currently the Chief Medical Director of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki Ebonyi State.

Prof. Onoh had served as Chairman of Nigerian Medical Association Abakaliki Zone, President of Association of Resident Doctors FMC Abakaliki, and Social Secretary Nigerian Medical Association Ebonyi State. He has also served in many committees in the church, hospital, University and the different professional bodies. Prof Onoh is a devoted and committed Rotarian and is a Past Assistant Governor of Zone 18 District 9142. Prof Onoh is a Paul Harris Fellow. He has also received many awards within and outside Ebonyi state. Prof. Onoh is a Roll honor Awardeee of the Nigerian Medical Association Ebonyi State which is incidentally the highest award in our Noble Association NMA.

Prof Onoh is a voracious reader, an innovative researcher and an astute academician and has more than 90 publications in local and International Journals of good ratings. Prof. Onoh is happily married to Dr Mrs Toochukwu Joan Onoh who is an Associate Fellow (Haematologist ) at Haematology and Blood Transfusion Services department of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. To the Glory of God their marriage is blessed with lovely and God fearing children.
